Lois is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years clinical and research experience working with people with eating and weight issues as well as those with serious life-shortening medical illnesses. Lois is an Associate Professor in Psychological Medicine (University of Otago at Christchurch), and teaches postgraduate courses in these areas. She is involved in multiple research studies looking at illness adjustment and recovery.
Kathryn trained to be a clinical psychologist at the University of Canterbury. Previously she has worked at the South Island Eating Disorders Service, Family Mental Health Service and is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago, Christchurch. She believes it is important to use psychological therapies that have been well researched and shown to be effective, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Metacognitive Therapy.
